Prof. Xiushan Wu

Profile: Xiushan Wu received the Ph.D. degree in circuits and systems from Southeast University, Nanjing, China, in 2009. Since 2009, he has been an Associate Professor with the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Jiliang University, China. He is currently with the School of Electrical Engineering, Zhejiang University of Water Resources and Electric Power. His research interests include dynamic measurement and control, sensing technology, and RF-IC designs.

Prof. Zhengtao Ding

Profile: Prof. Zhengtao Ding received B.Eng. degree from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, and M.Sc. degree in systems and control, and the Ph.D. degree in control systems from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, Manchester, U.K. After working in Singapore for ten years, he joined the University of Manchester in 2003, where he is currently the Professor of Control Systems and the Head of Control, Robotics and Communication Division. He has authored/co-authored three books, including the book Nonlinear and Adaptive Control Systems (IET, 2013) and has published over 300 research articles. His research interests include nonlinear and adaptive control theory and their applications, more recently network-based control, distributed optimization and distributed learning, with applications to power systems and robotics. Prof. Ding serves or has served as the Editor in Chief of Drones and Autonomous Vehicles, Subject Chef Editor of Nonlinear Control for Frontiers, and Associate Editor for Scientific Reports, IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, IEEE Transactions on Circuit and Systems II, IEEE Control Systems Letters, Transactions of the Institute of Measurement and Control, Control Theory and Technology, Unmanned Systems and several other journals. He is a member of IEEE Technical Committee on Nonlinear Systems and Control, IEEE Technical Committee on Intelligent Control, and IFAC Technical Committee on Adaptive and Learning Systems. He is a fellow of The Alan Turing Institute, the UK national institute for data science and artificial intelligence.

Prof. Jianguo Zhu

Profile: Jianguo Zhu received his BE degree in 1982 from Jiangsu Institute of Technology, Jiangsu, China, ME degree in 1987 from Shanghai University of Technology, Shanghai, China, and PhD degree in 1995 from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Sydney, Australia, all in electrical engineering. He was appointed a lecturer at UTS in 1994, promoted to full professor in 2004, and Distinguished Professor of Electrical Engineering in 2017.At UTS, he has held various leadership positions, including Head of School for the School of Electrical, Mechanical, and Mechatronic Systems and Director of the Centre for Electrical Machines and Power Electronics.In 2018, he joined the School of Electrical and Information Engineering at the University of Sydney (USyd), Australia, as the Head of School and a full professor.After completing his term as Head of School in 2023, he is now a full professor at USyd.His research interests include computational electromagnetics, measurement and modelling of electromagnetic properties of materials, electrical machines and drives, power electronics, renewable energy systems, and smart grids.

Prof. Xin Zhang

Profile: Prof Xin Zhang‘s research experience covers power system real-time control, planning and operation, digital power systems, cyber-physical power system modelling and co-simulation, smart grid and renewable energy, and transport electrification (land-air transport) with grid integration. As the Principal Investigator (PI), his research work has been funded by UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship (£1.8 million, MR/W011360/1, 2022-2026), EPSRC New Investigator Award (£481k, EP/W028905/1, 2022-2025), EPSRC Supergen Energy Networks Hub (EP/S00078X/2), UK Department for Transport (two projects from T-TRIG 2019, T-TRIG 2020), and Power & Energy Industry. Previously Prof Xin Zhang worked at Cranfield University as a directly appointed Senior Lecturer (2019-2021, tenured in 2020) and Brunel University London (2021-2023). Prof Xin Zhang is promoted to the Professor and Chair in Control and Power Systems at University of Sheffield (2023-).
